confidence that she will do well and be useful
in future, and recommend her reappointment
and if she desires to return to Richmond shall
be pleased to see her.

Physically, morally, religiously, socially, disqualified.

Not on a very large pattern, but very
faithful, skilfull and useful. I want
no better teacher for a primary class.

Mary L. Rowell
Her misfortune is her misfortune! - ie.. her physical
infirmity, her homelessness and poverty make
her peevish and querulous at home and in
school and lead her beyond the bounds
of propriety in her desire to secure
"anybody, anybody, good Lord" for
a husband. The only motive which
would lead me to consider her case
favorably would be her misfortunes
for which she cannot be blamed. She is
not a very successful teacher -- discipline poor.

I am willing to take my necessary proportion of mediocre teachers.
But should be glad of one or two new ones of commanding
merit. One for the 1st class (Martha Cooks) as best.
One such makes all the rest better.
