Dear Sir:
The Bureau does not direct in regard to the books used in the schools. The charitable associations have sometimes been able to make very accommodating arrangements with publishers, and we have found it [[??]] practicable to interfere.
Personally I prefer Wilson's Readers & spellers, published by Harper & Bro, Monteiths Geogs. published by A.S. Barnes & Co., & Felter's Arithmetics published by Scribner & Co. and keep supplies for the accommodations of the schools immediately about me in this city, and could supply to anybody at 25 per ct., disct from publishers catalogue price.
Very Respty
