Office Superintendent of Education Virginia
Richmond, Va. May 18 1869

Miss M E Sherman
Actuary-
I am not able to give any definite information in regard to Class Deprt. Friend Samuel H Jones, in charge of the affairs of the U.L. Friends in this state, has given [[strikethrough]]given [[/strikethrough]] attention to that place, and knows all about it. He is not now at home or I would see him get full information. And as I am to leave today on an inspecting tour I would recommend thee to address Samel. H. Jones Agt. N.Y. Son of Friends Richmond. I shall be glad to cooperate with the or any one else for a school there.
I am sorry to say that Henry Cortes has decided not to go to Clarksville, and I am not able today to recommend any other.
The time is so short (upon the supposition that you will close your operations there for this year in June) that persons do not wish to go.
Very Truly Your Friend
