Sept 21 9

Mr. Thos J. Davis

Dear Sir:

Yours of yesterday is Recd. The operations of the Bureau will have just about the same extent as last year; but unfortunately I am not allowed any assistants, and must depend to a great extent upon the cooperation and assistance of the teachers and agents of the various societies. I have the control of but Normal School, and Principal of that for the last two years is to continue in the future.

I hope you will not leave the State as there is ample employment in responsible positions, where your services are much needed. I can put you in connection with other societies.

Lawrenceville in Brunswick Co. and Wytheville in Wythe Co. may be named. I should be glad & secure your appointment to either.

Yours Truly
R.M. Manly
Supt Ed

Let me hear from you.
