Dear Minnie,

Here is another check, for $45.00 this time. Mr. Donald Gray who lives in New York bought one of your drawings. He calls it "The Mysterious Stranger"

You asked me how we like your new collages. Some of them are excellent, and I like them very much. I am not sure that I will make any more sales. The committee ended last spring. One of our members has left New York. I can ask the others, Miss Kong and Mr. Parker for advise occasionally. My own job is to try to write an article about you and your work that I can get published. This is itself a big job.

Some of the collages you sent me have parts that are not stuck down thoroughly. They sort of bubble in the middle parts of the pasted-on part, the big pasted-on parts. I hope that when you make more you will follow the directions for gluing that I wrote you last time, and put glue or the Polymer Medium all over the back of the part you are gluing on. Then I think they will not bubble.

You never told me what your name was before you were married. Did you use your mother's name? What was your father's name. It would be interesting to know this.

Mr. Starr and I both send you our love, and hope that you are taking good care of yourself.

Affectionately
Nina Starr

I am sending a copy of this letter to Mr. Rountree.

P.S. to Mr. Rountree: I hope you do not mind my sending you copies of letters when I send Minnie money. the first day I met her she told me you were her "best friend".
