I appeal to you in behalf of the large number of [[?]] children that are in this vicinity that Lack for education their parents are not able to Educate them. I am teaching School here and Will have to give up teaching because they are not Able to Pay My Board and if you Will Give your aid I Would like to continue. I were instructed By Col S P Lee of Alexandria to Make applications to you as he were here and I stated all the facts concerning the School. He told me to ask you if you Would not allow me Ten Dollars Per Month for Teaching here I Would also Reffer to his [[?]] Who are teaching Richmond [[?]] Teached here and he could tell how they Pay the People get very [[?]] Wages and have Luck of Hard times to collect it that it [[?]] their [[?]] To Pay Regular for the Schooling of their children. I have forty five scholars and Don't get enough to Pay Board. Please Give answers. Love I am Most Respectfully Your obedient Servant
