Bureau Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands,
HEAD-QUARTERS ASS'T COMMISSIONER, DIST. OF VIRGINIA.
Richmond, Va., April 23d 1869.

L.A. Jackson
Cliff Mills, Va

Madam,
Your letter of 15th inst, has been referred to this office by the Commissioner.

I do not see how the Bureau can aid in the matter of the land purchased or hired, (your letter does not state which) from Mr Alfred Myers, until after the sale.

Then we will see what arrangements can be made with the purchaser. In the mean time please send more definite particulars of the transaction, and whether a school house has been erected upon the lot.

Yours respectfully
