Whereas if we had a house for a free shool [[school]] many who are now denied the privilige of attending School would have the Chance of obtaining that very desirable boon, Education. Therefore be it

Resolved

That we petion [[petition]] Genl O Brown Assistant Commissioner through our delegate to the Annual State Council to meet in Richmond Va March 8th 1869 Mr S. F. Kelsoe to give to the Colored people of the City of Lynchburg one of the Barracks Buildings of Camp Schofield for a Free School House
