the Rogers stayed on to camp in their then new tent. As we came home it rained torrents. They stayed fairly dry, so I guess the tent was good! We have been using our air mattresses and sleeping bags to put up occasional people visiting us, but they have not had any good usage for a while.

We had our once-a-semester Russian club meeting last night with [[strikethrough]] me [[/strikethrough]] a slide showing and singing afterwards. There was an "election of officers", about as democratic as in the U.S.S.R. - Mrs. Sobetka had the nominees chosen already, one for each of the two positions. [[strikethrough]] like [[/strikethrough]] She had chosen a Miss Mowre for secretary, & that person was dutifully nominated - but then, capricious as despots are, she changed her mind and strongly suggested that I would be a better choice. That closed the election. Miss Mowre was irritated, but I certainly would have given her the position if I could have. I'm going try to get some folk music - it is certainly beautiful.

Jack is very busy, working almost every evening until almost midnight at the lab. After the long slow-up during prelim study he wants to get something done!

Must get dinner.

Love,
Doris
