the blue did not, & besides it was while I was learning and not so proficient. On Monday, I began the couch cover & finished it this afternoon. a blue, corded couch cover and yellow, non-corded but zippered covers for the two pillows (hard) for the couch. I got the material in August but it was too big a job to undertake during school time. It took two evenings and two afternoons or about 12 hours. The covers are meant to be removable & washable, which the original upholstery wasn't, & it was becoming grimy. I used Joan Cederstrand's sewing machine, a great boon. It has been very good experience & I am most glad to learn the arts of dyeing and upholstering. I probably could have bought drapes as cheaply in the long run, but I enjoyed doing them a good deal.
In the courses I took, [[strikethrough]] in [[/strikethrough]] atomic physics & mechanics, I got what I deserved - A in the first and C in the second. Next semester I will take nuclear physics (same level as the atomic) and a Russian literature course (Tolstoy?). Today a $40 soil science paper arrived in the mail (to be translated). I hope to do it within a week and a half. It came opportunely, when the big sewing job was about over.
