The attention of Probate judges throughout the State is respectfully called to the existing laws on the subject of apprenticeship of minors. Nothing in the tenor of these laws or their present channel of administration forbids their application to colored orphans, or other children where humanity plainly requires each interposition, the same as if they were white persons. The "Trade" in the phraseology of the Statute is understood to apply to a knowledge of agriculture where that is the business of the guardian. 
The present Legislature failed to perfect any new law upon the subject
