198 Head Quarters Dist. of Alabama Bureau R.F. and A.L. Montgomery, Ala. Sept. 30th 1867 Special Orders No 61} I The journey made by Bvt. Lt. Col. C.J. Kipp, Surgeon U.S. Vols. on the 21st to 23rd inst. from Montgomery to Selma and return, having been in pursuance of orders from this Office, is hereby authorized and the necessary travelling expenses incurred thereon will be paid on presentation of the proper vouchers to Bvt. Lt. Edwin Beecher, Disbursing officer for this District. II Lieut S.J. Whiting 45th US Infty, Chief QM Bureau R.F. and AL, Ala, will issue to Mrs M Micon for distribution to the destitute of Montgomery Co., the following articles: Ten (10) Pr Brogans Ten (10) Pr Pants Twenty (20) Knit Jackets Twenty (20) Woolen Blankets Fifteen (15) Overcoats Six (6) Dress Coats By Command of Bvt Maj Genl. Wager Swayne (signed) S.C. Greene Captain 24th Infty, Bvt Maj USA A.A.A.G. Head Quarters Dist. of Alabama Bureau R.F. and A.L. Montgomery, Ala. Oct. 7th 1867 Special Orders No 62} W.C. Arthur, A.C.S. Bureau RF and AL, Ala, will sell in convenient lots, and on the most advantageous terms obtainable, all corn and bacon (both Government and that 199 received from benevolent societies) now in possession of the Bureau at this place, and at Huntsville, Ala, which by further retention will suffer damage. All funds received therefor will be at once turned over to Bt. Lt. Col. Edwin Beecher, Disbursing Officer. Separate returns will be made therefor showing the source from which funds are derived. Oct. 11th 1867 Special Orders No 63} I Leave of absence for ten (10) days is hereby granted Bvt Maj. C.W. Pierce, Sub. Asst. Comr. Bureau RF and AL Demopolis, Ala. II Lieut L.J. Whiting, Chief QM, BRF and AL, Ala, will issue to Dr. J. Schatz Surgeon in charge of Home Colony Hospital the following articles for the use of the inmates: Twenty five (25) Dress Coats Twenty five (25 Knit Jackets By Command of Maj Genl.
