Special Orders No 81} The contract of Dr W P Buel, AA Surgeon U.S.A. in charge of Bureau Hospital at Demopolis, Ala, having been annulled and said contract having been made at Washington DC, with the Chief Medical Officer of the Bureau, Lieut L.J. Whiting, Chief QM, Bureau RF and AL, Ala, will issue transportation to Dr Buel from Demopolis, Ala, to Washington, DC. II The property at Athens, Ala, formerly owned by Mr Fred Sulzner, which has been held by the Bureau R.F. and AL, as "abandoned", and is now occupied for school purposes by the teachers of colored schools is under the provisions of Cir. letter from the Commissioner of Nov. 5th 1867, hereby restored to its legal owners. 3rd. All executions issued against the crop, stock and farming implements, now on the plantation of JA Shingleur, of Russell Co. Ala, is so far suspended as to exempt the ungathered crop and certain stock and implements from seizure until the crop shall have been gathered and prepared for market. The following are the stock and implements exempt: Twelve (1) mules, One (1) horse, One (1) six mule wagon, two (2) Yokes of Oxen, One (1) ox wagon, one (1) gun wtih the necessary fixtures and gear attached thereto, sufficient long forage for feed of stock, and all harness necessary for the animals exempted.
