Actg Asst Surg Wm. B. Van Duyn. U.S.A. in charge of the Freedmens Hospital at Talladega Ala will immediately on the receipt of this order discontinue the said Hospital reporting the fact to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees designated in an act of the General Assembly State of Alabama entitled "An ACt to provide for the support of Hospital patients at Talladega" together with the number of destitute and inform patients for whose support provision must be made.
Surgeon Van Duyn will discharge all Hospital attendants, cause all the Medical and Hospital property for which he is responsible to be sold at public auction, transmit all Hospital Records to this Office and report by letter to the Surgeon in Chief at these Hd. Qrs.
2.  Paragraphs No. 1 & 2. Special Orders No 129 of date Dec 18th 1868 from this Office is hereby revoked.

In order to comply with endorsed instructions from the Commissioner, by order of the Secretary of War, under date of December 1st, 1868. directing the sale of Government property now in use by the Bureau in this State, and it being inexpedient to move said property to this place, and impracticable for the Chief Quartermaster to attend in person such sale, the Sub. Asst Commissioner's of this Bureau at Huntsville, Talladega, Opelika, Selma, Demopolis, Eufaula & Mobile will on the 31st day of Dec. 1868 offer for sale at public auction at their respective stations all property belonging to the Bureau now in their possession and for which they are responsible excepting such articles that have been designated in letter orders from these Head Quarters to be retained for use in the Educational Department.
These sales will be made in accordance with existing orders and regulations, and the funds accruing. There from will be at once transmitted with Account Sales to the Chief Disbursing Officer Bu. R.F. & A.L. State of Ala.
The Chief Quartermaster will sell in the same stores and property for which he is responsible except such
