Freed people in this Sub Dist, twenty five pant suits of clothing belonging to the Dr. Mr Dept. Bureau R.F. and A.L. and for which I am responsible.

The Bureau R.F.and A.L. provides Clothing food, and medicine for thirty seven inmates of the Hospital at this place. I have expended material to the amount of eight hundred (800) dollars and labor to the amount of six (690) hundred and ninety dollars, in repairing School building, belonging to the American Missionary Association at this place, and used as a Freedmens formal School; in compliance with Special Order No 26, dated State of Ala. Bureau RF and A.L. Montgomery Ala March 16th 1868.

A large number of colored men have located on vacant lands with a view to taking the benefit of the homestead law. As the Selma, Rome and Dalton RR Company owns a large amount of lands through this portion of the State, I fear that some are improving land belonging to said R.R. Company, believing it to be Govt land, and with a view of purchasing it,
