There was a larger amount of destitution reported in Walker and Fayette Counties. The present increased issue of rations will it is believed relieve these counties during the present month -

In all the counties along the mountains lying North of the counties named and extending to the valley of the Tennessee river the people are reports as suffering for food and notwithstanding the large issue of rations by the Government and the liberal private contributions which have been sent them.

In the counties of Covington Coffee, Dale and Henry in the South Eastern part of the State some suffering has been reported. This has been incurred doubtless by the great difficulty of getting supplies into those counties and the failure to receive the supply of rations apportioned them heretofore or in some counties any portion of the supply.
