information about issues and experience, and affects culture. Collaboration has been the most exciting art form for me. It is an invaluable experience to work with women to create, to confront issues like responsibility, cooperation, leadership and personal recognition in order to be successful. I have co-founded the L.A. Women's Video Center with Nancy Angelo, Candace Compton and Jerri Allyn. In collaboration we rely upon one another's participation. It didn't take long for me to discover personal barriers, like fear of public speaking and fundraising. I couldn't fake it or put it off because three women depended on me completing my job. Nancy, Candace, and Jerri have supported me in developing self-confidence and skills in these areas. This past fall I raised $10,000 to produce a video tape on social art. Collaboration is challenging, exciting work.

Working together in a feminist educational program, many women discover common experience and collaborate on art projects or form new organizations. "The Waitresses", artists who met at the Woman's Building, do collaborative performances in restaurants and public places about their experience as waitresses. Their performance includes information about waitressing; income, sexual harassment, working conditions, a tribute to the Goddess Diana, the all-giving nurturer, and a special appearance by "Wonder Waitress". Students have worked with Ariadne A Social Art Network, doing public demonstrations against violence against women. One performance done at City Hall in Los Angeles, mourning victims of violence and sexual abuse, included a press conference and speak out with women from local hot lines and shelters. A result of this performance was the inclusion of a rape hot line phone number
