within a feminst context, and on the exploration of ways to create a humane, moral and aesthetic community.

Your particular background, in fine arts and psychology, makes you particularly ready for this program. I' studied psychology and zoology [[strikethrough]] begetr [[/strikethrough]] before entering art, and all of the faculty have diverse interests in politics and the humanities.

2. The Woman's Building is a public center for women's culture. This is a large three story brick building in down town los angeles which has been completely rennovat3d by women. In it is the Bookstore; the Cafe; a complete graphics and photography facility; a large auditorium of public events in music, theater, literature, politics, etc the FSW program; gallery space; and an extension program. The Building is run by two managers, and has a large outreach to the Los Angeles community of women.

3. The Extension Program (see enclosed brochure) This program is committed to [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] offering courses to a large community of people in Los angeles...courses and workshops are taught by women, and are open to men and women. In addition, FSW students are allowed to take a free course per term in the extension program, thus broadening their education possibilities.

4. Summer Program This is a particularly exciting program as it is put on each summer by FSW students who have spent the year studying feminist educational ideas and techniques. It demonstrates our belief that feminist education should not maintain a heirarchy of information, but should teach women how to express themselves and teach other in turn.

5. Outreach programs These, like the one at SFAI, are not institutionalized in any way, but [[strikethrough]] that [[/strikethrough]] take the form of facluty and others, including students, who are invited to create lectures, programs, etc, creating these in light of the concepts being developed at the workshop.

This is a lot of information...I feel like I just rapped it off...fortunately, my miserable typing keeps it from being too formal. I think, by the sound of your letter, that the workshop has a lot to offer to you...we are affiliated with several degree granting institutions, and you can get a MA through any of several schools, Antioch, Goddard, etc. It costs more, though. If you want to know specifics, let me know.

About doing a program in Washington...that will happen if someone invites one or more of us...If you know a place which could sponser, fund such an event, let me know and let them know...once contacted I could provide information about kinds of possibilities, fees, etc.

hope to hear from you again,
