I left the Kansas City Art Inst. because of a lack of communication, I felt, between teachers and students. In the sculpture department particularly, between male teachers and female students. The department had the tradition of "macho" steel sculptures and "the girls in the sewing room." that tradition is steadily changing, but, sadly, the faculty, particular teacher's attitudes, and student relations remains the same. 
The department has a strong reputation in the sort of closed world of art schools. It seems the expected regimine is to go 4 years for a B.A., go someplace
