I seem to end up as teacher, administrator; and finally I felt our work, seen, despite its differences, in the context of each other, would magnify a woman's feminist contemporary aesthetic which I sense (rather than know) binds all of us together. Some of the ideas I was interested in were having a physical space in which our work, collaborative work created out of the context of our gallery association, and shows of other women from across the states and europe (M. Wilson in New York, Ulricke Rosenbach in Germany) which we curated as group or individual. I wanted to see a collectively supported space, supported at first with our own money and money obtained through sale of our works, and later subsidized (hopefully) with grants. I was interested in establishing a network for performance, conceptual work by feminists, being a gallery which housed, for example, a book show [[strikethrough]] clu [[/strikethrough]] curated by Martha in New York, a video show curated by Ulricke, consisting of German artists...and sending our work as package shows to these and other women in different areas.

While interest was there on the part of all who attended the first meeting, we decided much discussion would need to prepare the way to any commitment of gallery space support. We left our meeting with the decision to contact the above people and get together another time for more discussion...and more sharing of our work, etc, which even in this brief contact was very exciting. As several of use are [[strikethrough]] on the [[/strikethrough]] coming to the AHP conference in LA in May (28th), perhaps that would be another time to get together, informally, maybe over breakfast???

Love,

Suzanne
