Ms. Sheila Levrant de Bretteville
Acting President
Board of Governors
The Woman's Building
1727 N. Spring Street
Los Angeles, California 90012

Dear Ms. de Bretteville:

I am writing in response to your letter of September 15 to Mr. Dressner regarding the possibility of support for a conference on Women's Culture in American Society to be held under the auspices of the Women's Building next March.

I have shared your latter and the enclosed material with my associates and we are agreed that the proposal you have in mind is an interesting one. I am sorry to have to report, however, that we cannot offer the prospect of support. As you are undoubtedly aware we have a wide range of programs relating to women but these are largely committed for other purposes at the present time.

I do hope you will find other means to carry out your plans.

With all good wishes.

Sincerely yours,
