Press Packet
Choose target pub. for press packets & proj. info packets & call them to deter. to whom information should be addressed, & date inf. should be submitted for the desired pub. date. 

WHAT:  1. The cover latter goes on the outside of the press packet folder & it should contain:

A. 1-2 sentences about the Woman's Building or short 1st paragraph. 

B. description of event including target audience, nature of event & goals of project, use any names of people involved in project who are of special interest to the community that media organization serves & what project is relevant to that community.

C. reason why this specific media organization has been sent information, what they can do for the project. 

2. Introduction to the WB including history, communities served, & achievements (indicate range of activities but emphasize events similar in topic & scope to current project)

3. Articles about Woman's Building
Review of WB projects
Sample broadsides of WB projects (include affiliate organizations.

4. Specific information about the project:
poster, brochure, press release (including one meeting media-org's specifications ie # of lines) or psa if org. is radio or TV; info sheet broken down into who: ____ what:____ when:____ where:____ why:____

Use a pocket folder to contain material, cover letter on top of that. See WCAS on file in exec. dir's office. It is a good example for its visual effect; however, we were unable to get coverage in any of the newspapers excepting the free L.A. Weekly. Kathleen Hendricks, Beverly Boyette, & Janice Mall of the LA Times were very supportive but were unable to get assigned to the event.
