ANCESTRAL JOURNEY

On November 8, at the Woman's Building in downtown Los Angeles, Luisah Teish will lead the workshop, Ancestral Journey. The workshop will begin at 11 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. and costs $15.

A workshop designed to reach those layers of consciousness where the surviving intelligence resides in us. Participants will sing, chant, create rhythms and invocations to dispel negative influences, and attract spirit guides. Bring along to the workshop a candle of any color, and a rock you can love.

Luisah Teish, author of the provocative Jambalaya: A Natural Woman's Book of Personal Charms and Practical Rituals, is well-known in the San Francisco Bay area as a dancer and storyteller. She teaches classes on Afro-Cuban dance, African goddesses, shamanism, and women's myth and ritual.

The Woman's Building is a public center dedicated to the presentation of women's creative accomplishments. Located at 1727 North Spring Street in downtown Los Angeles, it is the oldest feminist institution in the world. For further information, please call 213/221-6161.
