Display Advertising

General Information

Deadline for space reservation is 22 days before the date of the issue. Camera-ready ads must arrive at Artweek 15 days ahead. If you want us to produce your ad, the copy must arrive one week earlier (22 days before the issue date). Missed deadline ads appear in the next issue.

Full payment should accompany order (must arrive before publication). Institutional purchase orders accepted, also Visa, Mastercard.

Commission:
a. 15% commission allowed only to recognized agencies providing camera-ready materials (on space, color, and position charges only) and provided account is paid within 30 days of date of insertion. Commission cancelled on unpaid invoices 30 days after insertion.
b. Prepayment required until credit approval.
c. No cash discount.
d. Dual responsibility - In the event of nonpayment, publisher reserves the right to hold advertiser and/or its advertising agency jointly and severally liable for such monies as are due and payable to publisher. 15% of amount due will be added to accounts referred for collection.

Guaranteed Placement: add 15%. No advertising on front page. 

Cancellation must be received at least three weeks before date of publication.


Production Charges

Space rates are based on camera-ready copy; stat, PMT or velox preferred. ($7 charge to reproduce a mechanical which cannot be removed from board; $5 minimum charge for rebordering ads to meet our exact size requirements given below.)

Camera work: $7 per camera shot. Allow $7 for half-tone, line shot, reverse, reduction or enlargement. Doubleburn, $20.

Ad preparation: Minimum charge $35 (includes design, typesetting). Overlay, $10 minimum. Larger ads or ads which require excessive handling or typesetting may require additional charges. (Producing an ad from your layout may increase charges.) Please consult us in advance for a price quote.

Miscellaneous preparations: Charges will be made for rebordering, stripping, boxing, color separations, or other mechanical preparations. ARTWEEK reserves the right to adjust ads as needed to meet format requirements or to make them camera-ready.

Color: Two-color (black + one), add $175. Four color, add $445. Separations, $160. Request color mechanical information.

Proofs: Supplied only by special request. Allow one additional week for preparation.

*Camera-ready means that the graphic art work is exactly to size according to the enclosed ad specifications and requires no additional work before going to the printer.

4x, successive or alternate issues—save 15%

Yearly contracts (same or different ads)
4x, four insertions in 12 months—save 10%
12x, twelve insertions in 12 months—save 15%
22x, twenty-two insertions in 12 months-save 20%
44x, insertions in every issue for 12 months—save 25%

Short Rates and Rebates: Advertisers will be short
rated if, within a twelve-month period from the date of
the first insertion, they do not use the number of
insertions upon which the billings have been based.
Advertisers will be rebated if, within a twelve-month
period from the date of the first insertion, they have
used sufficient additional insertions to warrant them a
lower rate than that at which they have been billed.


Mechanical Information

For best results supply unscreened black and white
images. Presstype and original art are accepted at
advertiser's risk. 

ARTWEEK is offset lithographed in black ink on white
book paper with half-tones screened at 100 lines per
inch. Minimum photo reduction is 20%. On pre-
screened material, 85 lines per inch is the maximum
acceptable. No bleeds available.
