we took the clothes and other main possessions and came home the same day. Dean greeted us like an emperor his returned vassals, very glad to see us again at his command.

When he is on his feet I expect he will give up the luxury [[strikethrough]] of [[/strikethrough]] TV viewing and get a little writing done. It has been a real vacation for us both up to now, better than if we had gone off somewhere.

I'm not sure I can make it thanksgiving what with all our medical bills, but will try, we'll surely come X-mas.

P.S. I'm afraid McGovern -- and with him all hopes of a future job in my field of research--will lose, and I'll be stuck here in a miserable rut, as will the poor country.
