they pushed very hard with their little keys to try to get out, they never bit me. And when I opened my hand, they jumped (and here I show her how they jumped) as far as they could, and sometimes opened their wings and flew, to get as far away as they could. And now, every morning, Annie says: "Poppa hold grasshopper in hand, Grasshopper no bite poppa. Grasshopper jump (and here she shows me a jump with her hand). Poppa show grasshopper to Annie."

And I tell her, "not until summer, Annie, and it's a long, long time before summer."

Is your lizard still alive? Annie would love him. We will not be able to travel for a while because Carol broke a bone in her ankle, but we want to see you in March.
