The Beatitudes
1.  St. Luke gives the actual sermon.  St. Matthew gives the sermon but utterances of Christ that harmonize (with) the sermon.
The sermon can be considered

1.  An ordination of disciples
2.  A revelation of Christ's own character every word of it Christ had already written in his deeds.  He had only to translate His life into words.
3.  The power bywhich Christ lived his life is the very power by which we also must live it.  The power of secret prayer.
