Stoughton December 29th 1946

Dear Doris,

Our winter weather at last has begun in earnest. cold weather around for the last few days since Fridays wind we have had storms & flurries of snow, with terrible cold nights. our snows so far have been light but the weather report is a severe snow storm is on its way, with a cold waive accompining [[accompanying]] it. this is good weather for skiing.

If Doris were here this weekend, I am afraid she would not be able to wash her clothes. Mr Barry did not go down to rehearsal Friday night & is not at church to day. next Wednesday night she is going to a party at Normas. hope it is pleasant & good going. Stoughton square they say is beautiful nights. wish I could have seen it.

I had to open my xmas box so to get out the clock. the things in it were very nice & were just what went to the right spot. those snuggies, will be good & warm I mean to wear them right away, for I needed them very much. that's right. the writing paper was good & also those large envelopes will come in very handy. well I received the cane & also that little package of books, with the pillow cases wound around them. & yours & Sidneys [[Sidney's]] pictures they were greatly prized. I keep them where I can see them
