We woke up to a cloudy morning the wind blew hard all night temperature in the 30ies not so cold if the wind wouldn't blow

I hope you had a pleasant xmas with Doris to help celebrate it with you the day here was perfect, sunny all day & not so cold we had our usual dinner of boiled ham with the usual pine apple dressing no Turkey. our cold smoaked [[smoked]] shoulder was much better for us, for Thanksgiving turkey lasted us too long & we got terribly sick of it, there was no one here to help us eat it. the Gilchers sent me a large Coffee cake Myrtle alwaws [[always]] sends one every xmas she is awful good to me. their boy Albert brought it this year - I had not seen him for ages, when he was a little boy I didn't know him. he is the very image of his mother - has been in the army, a nice boy he has turned out to be. his father usually brings the Coffy [[coffee]] cake xmas & then goes over to the Ballantines after a drink they always treat him to a glass of wine Addie asked if
