Goldsboro N.C. May 1st 1866

Coln Silby
I am engaged in a large Cotton Farm, and find it very dificult to keep my hands after contracting with them, any possible excuse that they can make for quitting, they make, without some alternative we should have to abandon our farms or a portion of our lands. I would like to get about Eight-Hundred if I can get hands that can be depended upon. I want Boys from 16 to 21 years old that can Plow.
Mr Miller a farmer from this county gave me your address. He is the hands from your place, please let me hear from you. I will refer you to the Capt Glains Superintendent of F. M. at this place.
