I have the honor to forward the accompanying letter with the following explanation. The woman for whom the letter is written is Rose Woodward formerly slave in Richmond. Her two children one Mary Ann, Ross & Freeman Eppo Ross. By your order I proceeded to fetters. Ville in June to the plase of the supposed residence of the girl Mary. She was living with Mr. Nathaniel Wilson (who resided with Mr, Rickand Anderson Amelia Co.) The girl was doing well and all parties satisfied. I did not take her away and this letter will show that the mother is satisfied with this.
