Dear Sir,
Yours of 29th ult. recd Grateful for your courtesy about the books to be used; of course, it cannot be done in all instances, & never to oppress the poor; but cast-iron regulations for such a nebulous condition of teaching as this is, likely to be snuffed out and too very suddenly, according to present aprehensions, would be an absurdity which we are glad to see you are too wise to re-make. 
We should be very much gratified to continue such school as Miss Canedy began; she has a genius for the work; and with competent assistance, which she shall have, will
