Seeing by the papers thou hast been appointed to have the oversight of Freedmen affairs at Richmond. I venture to address then, asking information respecting the wants of such as are unable to provide for themselves.

Is there any thing for the "Association of Friends for the Aid and Elevation of the Freedman" to do, in that vicinity. We are anxious to extend all needful relief and think those in authority have the best means of knowing how far the relief may be extended to advantage.
