My dear Mr. Manly,
After writing the foregoing sheet, I remembered what you said in respect to the return of Miss Baker.

It is all well that Miss B. came on with the others. She had been some five months at her post, & that is time enough to call for rest.

You did right in sending her.

C. Thurston Chase, Esq. speaks of money he has advanced for the Association. Will you see him about it & perhaps pay the same. $500. have recently been remitted to you, so you may have funds on hand.
