My Dear Sir,
Our Com. are scattered this month for rest; a letter from you of 24th inst. has just reached me from the Office, without indication whether any one has ans'd it, & yet it needs immediate reply. As the briefest method, I hasten to say to you, that I have no doubt we shall send a larger number to Richmond as you advise it. We never wish to crowd in where other[[strikethrough]] s [[/strikethrough]] Soc. choose to; but here seems fair field. Next Monday we meet again, & after that I will write you definitely; now merely answer
