of Gonzalez and at other points  I noticed a strange plant to me.  This somewhat like a yucca with drooping leaves. 

May 23.
Merula tamaulipensis. Found this bird rather common along the river here this afternoon.  It habits are similar or the same as those of M. grayi.  It was heard singing several times during the afternoon and I saw them sitting among the dese foliage of the large trees along the river.  They have the habit of keeping well out of sight among the foliage on the opposite side of the tree as one approaches.

May 27. Forlon.
Move down here today to hunt wild turkeys. F. is a station a short distance south of Victoria.
Meleagris.  Roosts in Pryodium trees along the river near the water tank. They are said to come flying to the trees usually between sunset and dusk and do not pay any attention to hunters seated under the trees provided they
