will come charitable society either the A.M.A. or some other send a man here as Missionary to preach to and teach these people also bold teachers. There is a wide field for the good work here. I am more and more thoroughly convinced each day that there is little hope for the Freedmen of this County while they have no competent Religious Teacher, and no place for Religious worship. I fear that it will be necessary to ask officially for more aid from the govt for building purposes before success will crown our effort. If so I shall ask boldly for my cause it is just. I have called a meeting of the Freedmen for Saturday when I shall find definitely how much they can and will do and will then write you again.
Sincerely & Respectfully
