Rec'd 11th Sub Dist Va. July 22, 1868.

Bureau R.F. and A.L.
H'd Qrs 11th Sub Dist Va.
Farmville, Va., July 23, 1868.

Respectfully returned to R.M. Manly Supt of Education Dist of Va., and attention invited to report of Thomas Leahy A.S.A. Com. herewith enclosed. Mr Brown has - this month - 20 pupils - 11 males - 9 females and this number will be increased shortly.
Mrs Mack's or Thomas Mack's School was taught so irregularly that I declined to pay over the rent for May ($5.00) and returned the check to Capt White C.Q.M & D.O. - She has reopened the school with 15 scholars, which number will be increased if rent ($5.00 per month) can be again allowed.
I know nothing of M.W. Jackson, or that any room owned by him has ever been used for a school. A school at Talcott, for which rent of $5.00 per month is paid, is the only other school in Charlotte County within my knowledge. This has 24 scholars.
