I am directed by the Asst. Comr Gen. Fisk to acknowledge the receipt of your communication of the 12th wish in reference to your valuable invention of a Grinding Mill and to say in reply to your kind letter that all the Freedmen's Farms in this Dist. have been discontinued and that it is his opinion that the better plan would be to introduce this useful article among the large planters and let them test its merits.
