Green Mrs.
Winchester
Tenn.
Your letter of the 29th inst. has been received. In reply I have to say that I give my promise that a colored school can be maintained at Winchester after the 2nd of July, as it is not decided that the Bureau will be continued beyond the 16th of that month. If the colored people are very desirous of having the school continued they should be willing to pay for it themselves. Perhaps the county school office can do something in their behalf.

Very Respectfully
Signed W.P. Carlin
