Dear Sir: Your letter of the 6th inst. referring to the case of Eliza McElroy (colored) and the action of her agent James W Coulton has 75 been received. I approve of the course of Col. Coulter in the adjustment he has made of the disputed claim and in the sale of the house and lot belonging to Eliza McElroy and will refer your letter with a copy of this to the Assistant Commissioner of Arkansas, for his information. Supt. of Public Instruction for Anderson County. Sir: Yours of the 3d inst. has been received. In reply I have to inform you that the Bureau will continue to give aid to freedmen's schools till July 16th, unless orders to the contrary be issued from the powers at Washington.
