I am directed by the Asst. Comm. to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of June 19th 1868, and in reply thereto, to inform you that you can close your school at any time you may deem fit, between this and the first of July 1868. Also that the Bureau does not furnish transportation to teachers going home.

Miss Sarah E Burt aged fifteen, desires to enter your school for this term under the provision of Genl. Howard's Order.
She is destitute and desires to prepare herself for teaching. I suppose she is a worthy girl, but know nothing about her except what she tells me. She has no parents. I write at her request. She was at the Institute last term.
