U.S.A. to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of July 13th 1868, asking aid for the colored schools at Hamilton Co., Tenn, and in reply thereto, to inform you, that owing to the present uncertain state of the Bureau, no aid can be promised. As soon as the position of the Bureau is defined in Orders, your application will receive prompt attention.
