Sir:
I am directed by the Assistant Commissioner to say that hereafter you will forward your provision return to this office by your Steward during office hours, and that after his approval of the same, a wagon will be furnished to the Steward to take him to the Barracks, and to haul the rations thence to the Hospital. The return must be taken to the Post Commander for his order by the Steward, who will receive the rations from the Assistant Commissary.

The Assistant Commissioner, Brt. Major Genl. W.P. Carlin. U.S.A directs that you cause to be made on the buildings, (now-standing) connected with the Fisk University of Nashville, Tenn., such repairs as may be deemed by you necessary to put them in a suitable condition for school purposes. These repairs will be confined to ceiling and under pinning, and will be made under your supervision.
