Another fact, with which you were probably unacquainted, is that she not only sympathized with the mischievous spirit that overshadowed us last winter, but took sides with it. &  will probably remain some what under its influence.

Perhaps there are reasons of policy, such as insuring practical support, or aid for the school through her appointment, if to, I would waive all personal objection & try to rise above baleful influences: but if there are no such reasons, "Good Lord deliever us" from having a new assistant who was the special property of the old one!
