Dear Sir
Your favor of 30th Ult. is to hand and is satisfactory as to payments &c - I argued that such payments were difficult of collection from the fact that the U.S. had taken possession of the property in question at the close of the war and that no rents had yet been collected on the same tho one year the land was cultivated & all the houses occupied. Would you interest yourself for a consideration in collecting the back rents, which I think I have purchased?
