Gordonsville Nov. 19th. 68.

Rev. R. M. Manly;
Dear Sir
In regard to your furnishing books. I wish to inquire if payment is required in advance, if not when? Also whether one series of books is used throughout the state, or whether each teacher uses his own judgment in the matter.

If it is not necessary to pay in advance, and no books are prescribed, will you please send me in care of Maj. Morse. of the Hillard's Intermediate Readers 25. of the 2nd 6. Primers 12. Walton's Primary Arithmetic 24. Practical 6. No. 3 Writing Books 2. doz. and a box of chalk crayons, and 2 Erasers, and a list of prices at which they must be sold, and please tell me if any should remain on hand if they could be returned

Very respectfully Mary E. Perkins
