Ayletts Virginia
November 28, 1868

Rev R.M Manly
Supt of Education

Dear Sir,
Miss Scott
has no school report blanks & none of those on which pay is drawn. Will you please send her a supply - I have sent the vouchers for rent of school House at Ayletts & West Point Church to Maj White in blank hoping you will arange [sp. arrange] with him to increase the rent to $30.00 else I dont see how either Miss Preston or Scott will get any salary for at present I am obliged to use the check for "Cat Tail" to pay rent of Miss Scotts House & toward the stoves. if she could have $30.00 & then have ten out of it her

Transcription Notes:
Ayletts is likely a misspelling of Aylett, unsure The text in the quotations in the fourth to last line needs to be filled in. Perhaps "Bar Jail", "Cat Tail", or something similar. I am unsure. Compared "Cat Tail" on next page for confirmation. Pretty sure this is correct.
