briefly as I could an give a clear understanding. I reported briefly in my last monthly report. Scott cannot be set right nor the people united with him as the teacher. The school should be entirely nondenominational which he is unable to make it. 

I can see no remedy but to send a new teacher free from sectarian ties or prejucice and well qualified to unite the people. A white teacher would be preferred. Mr Jones has proposed to send a teacher there if the Bureau would approve and aid. Acting on the presumption that the facts were understood at Hd Qrs I have approved of his plans and promised my cooperation. I should have much preferred to have aided Mr. Scott in making his school a success but see no prospect with him.
