Rev. R. M. Manly

Dear Bro.

Accept my thanks for your form of application. Enclosed is my bill. But there is some doubt in my mind about inserting the name of Martha E. Linchcomet the assistant of Lizzie at Winchester, Va on account of the small sum of the people. Her school was promising at first but a new one was started and run hers down and it hers is now closed. We kept a good school there one or two years.

Martha assisted Lizzie, put her name on and fill it out if you can make it go But I did not wish it struck off, but wish you to put it on and put it through if possible.

Yours Truly
R. S. Rust

Return the documents I send that you may understand the case.

Transcription Notes:
Lizzie Linchcome in INDEX. Martha must be a relative. Her last name is also Linchcome. Martha is referred here as the assistant to Lizzie.
